Great design should be easy. It can be insanely time-consuming and difficult, but the result should feel effortless. The hard part is limiting the complications and obstacles that keep projects from reaching their potential.
To be honest, that’s the work I love most – finding real solutions for the problems that get in the way of making something great.
A little bit about me
I started doing design work at The Stuart News in the late 90s and fell in love with it. I had discovered the perfect balance of work that required artistic, creative influence (thanks, Mom) and practical, pragmatic application of technology to engineer structure (thanks, Dad). In the 15 years since, I've gone on to work as a professional designer while mastering the tools and techniques I use every day.
Currently, I am the Associate Publisher and Creative Director for Tower Publications. Outside of my career, my wife and I are planning trips to see more national parks, saving for a new home and spending as much time with family and friends as possible. You can also find me tinkering with Mac hardware upgrades, spending time with friends at well-deserved Friday night happy hours and occasionally playing Diablo 3.
