Problem solved.
Great design should be easy. It can be insanely time-consuming and difficult, but the result should feel effortless. The hard part is limiting the complications and obstacles that keep projects from reaching their potential. To be honest, that's the work I love most – finding real solutions for the problems that get in the way of making something great.
I started doing design work at The Stuart News in 1998 and fell in love with it. I had discovered the perfect balance of work that required artistic creativity (thanks, Mom) and practical, pragmatic application of technology for structure (thanks, Dad). In the time since, I've gone on to work as a professional designer while mastering the tools and techniques I use every day. Currently, I am the Lead Product Designer for Infotech.
For over two decades at Tower Publications, I was the voice of design across a full suite of products — defining brand strategy, creating advertisements, leading editorial design, and building the systems that kept everything efficient.
Now I'm the Lead Product Designer at Infotech, where, along with the FE team, we reimagined our design system from the ground up and applied it across a suite of new and legacy SaaS products used in public infrastructure and construction management. Larger problems with (much) more at stake, but the same discipline needed to solve them.
Outside of my career, my wife and I are planning trips to see (more) national parks, renovating our home, spoiling our doggo, and spending as much time with family and friends as possible. You can also find me writing and performing music with my bandmates and occasionally tinkering with computer hardware.
Let's make something
great together.
I'm always happy to talk about what I do. Holla at me!
